Episode 82 - Batman Forever

After a long hibernation, the Bat is back… and he looks like a completely different person!  And the city looks different... and the time is different... and pretty much everything is different, weird, and colorful.  But hey, Alfred is the same so we’re counting this canon!  Follow the Caped Crusader himself as he takes on the most sinister set of goofballs Gotham has ever seen!  Jim Carrey as Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones as Joker Two Face are introduced and "Bat Lips" takes on an orphan partner to help him in the fight.  Join us as we talk bat love, bat butts, and bat…stuff because we are Batman Forever!

Tell me, friend - Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?  Or perhaps just listened to a podcast instead?  You’re in luck, because we have just the film discussion for you!  Way back before Batman was a true detective, there was a gifted young filmmaker named Tim Burton.  A campy adventure with murder and sexism (and that’s just Batman himself) he also fights the Joker, a classic villain from Batman's rogues gallery given an iconic performance by the great Jack Nicholson.  Gentleman (and women), let's broaden our minds as we return to Gotham City to celebrate 200 years of corruption in "Batman ‘89"!  Lawrence!

It’s 1666 - apparently the year of the original Satanic panic?  We finally get to meet THE Sarah Fier and when we do, we learn some shocking truths about her.  The little settlement of Union is stricken with a heavy dose of rot and decay because of a dark deal with the Devil.  But who is truly responsible?  "Goode is evil" as we go even further back in the timeline and discover exactly where Shadyside’s misfortune began before heading back to '94 to bring it all to an end in Fear Street Part III: 1666!
