The Summer of MCU has once more come to an end.  Joined by longtime fan of the show Ben Kloosterhouse, we've got a new rap, new categories, and just a few laugh attacks (who the hell is Bucky?)  And of course, the end of one franchise comes the reveal of another and we couldn't be more excited for this next one, one that has been 26 years in the making.  Any guesses?  Join us to find out as we close the book on all things Marvel Cinematic Universe - Phase 2!

Episode 65 - Summer of MCU: Phase II - Ant-Man

What is this, a movie for ants?!  Marvel has proven they can make a good film about anthropomorphic raccoons and talking trees, so what's next?  If you guessed shrinking suit technology, atomic particles, and telepathically controlled ants, you'd be right on the money!  The MCU takes a shot at a Honey, I Shrunk The Kids remake and succeed AGAIN where they arguably shouldn't have, proving once more that Marvel reigns supreme.  Scott Lang is one of the most average heroes we've gotten so far and we love him!  So join us as we shrink down to size and plan a bite-size heist in the final film in our second Summer of MCU series - Ant-Man!

Episode 64 - Summer of MCU: Phase II - Avengers: Age of Ultron

You want the world to change but you don’t want to…something.  We’re back with Earth's Mightiest Heroes and wall to wall action with no breathing room (Joel, you've been warned).  If you’ve ever wanted a movie so jam-packed with story and setup but still coherent and enjoyable *cough cough DC* you’ll want to strap in.  This movie has it all - secret family, love, vibranium, sacrifice... it’s sure to fill your belly and satiate any thirst you have.  The Avengers are working against the Age - or rather the week - of Ultron to save the world.  But can they complete the mission?  Join us as we slam some metal monsters, talk food metaphors, Bill Cosby, and bring our Vision to life because we are diving into Phase II's  Avengers: Age of Ultron!

Episode 63 - Summer of MCU: Phase II - Guardians of the Galaxy

Just when you thought Marvel may suffer a spectacular flop… they go and make a thing like this and totally redeem themselves - as if they really needed it, right?  This film represents a drastic cosmic turn for Marvel Studios, with this rag tag team of unknown misfits managing to burrow their way into our hearts and collective pop culture (WE are GROOT anyone?!)  Traveling through the deep reaches of space, we experience things we've never seen in the MCU thus far - like talking trees, talking raccoons, colorful aliens, and a few "humans" along the way.  When Ronan the Generic gets called upon by Thanos, it’s game on for the Guardians.  Come and get your love in the outer reaches of the galaxy as the Summer of MCU: Phase II continues with 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy!

Episode 62 - Summer of MCU: Phase II - Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Cap is back and so are we in a world that isn't as black or white as it used to be.  In what may be the best MCU movie we've covered so far, we're introduced to an important player and ally in Steve's inner circle, learn the dark truth behind the modern day SHIELD, and witness smart and clever call backs to where Steve's journey began.  In this political thriller, Corruption is our middle name - the first is Espionage.  The Summer of MCU - Phase II continues (*hail Hydra*) as we trust no one and uncover a decades-long conspiracy in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Episode 61 - Summer of MCU: Phase II - Thor: The Dark World

In the second film of Phase II and most forgettable installment of the Thor line of films, we encounter many a generic villain and side characters we didn’t ask for.  There’s not much to say except stay with us and stay patient - it’s not as bad as you may think and it only gets infinitely better after this.  Its a Dark World indeed as we see Thor trapped in an underdeveloped love triangle and forced, convenient plot points attempt to keep characters relevant.  Join us as we continue the Summer of MCU and tolerate the journey through 2013's Thor: The Dark World!

Episode 60 - Summer of MCU: Phase II - Iron Man 3

It's that time of year again - Its time to kick off another Summer of MCU and if you’ve ever thought we needed less Iron Man and more Tony Stark, then this is the film for you!  This time around, Tony is ditching the suits... or rather it ditches him.  Shane Black digs deep into the psyche and takes us on a spy thriller comedy as Tony rediscovers himself, even becoming an eccentric uncle figure.  Strap in for several twists, some of which are not all that good (*cough Trevor *cough), and join us as we head into Phase II of the MCU and search for the REAL mandarin in Tony Stark - I mean Iron Man - 3!

Episode 59 - The MonsterVerse Franchise Wrap-Up

And our biggest franchise has come to a close with an episode as big as the King of the Monsters himself!  We are bringing the atomic fire as we discuss our best and worst moments of the Legendary MonsterVerse, our favorite kaiju, and even hand out some end of the year awards.  You won’t want to miss this franchise's epic Recap Rap, featuring a vocal performance by friend of the show and singing sensation Savanna Curtis (@shessavtastic on IG), as well as a chilling post credits franchise reveal.  So join us as we talk Titans, Godzilla's legacy, atomic farts, and giant lizard crossovers with our own Serizawa, Brandon Popp of the Going Off Topic Podcast and of course, the indominable Joel "The Voice" Paauwe and close the book on The MonsterVerse... for now.
